The GBRC is trying out its own online registration system for some of the larger races. The first race to give this a try is the Padden Mudfest, scheduled for Sunday, November 5. Many of the existing online registration systems build in a fee for using them. All of the GBRC runs are free to members, except the Chuckanut 50K, so by having the registration on the GBRC site, no fees are charged for the registration process. If any money is due, either because of options like a t-shirt or for a non-gbrc member race fee, payment options include credit card payment through PayPal (with no add-on fees) or printing an invoice and mailing in a check or money order.

This system is being piloted with the Mudfest, and will be used for the Birch Bay Marathon and Chuckanut 50K later next year. Because the Mudfest has a limit on the number of runners that can participate, pre-registration would be an advantage.
