Race Description
Haggen to Haggen 5K is a fun annual event for runners and walkers alike.
It normally attracts over 1,000 participants in recent years, about evenly
divided between runners
and walkers. Haggen to Haggen is a relatively fast course that winds through several
neighborhoods, including downtown Bellingham.
It begins at Sehome
Haggens and ends at Meridian Haggens. Free busses will be available to
shuttle participants back to the start. The first two miles involve
level and descending terrain, including an exciting run through downtown Bellingham on
Holly Street. But runners and walkers need to save a
little something in their tanks for the final mile since there is a
slight uphill grade to test their endurance. Prizes are awarded to the
first three male and female RUN finishers. Walkers (noncompetitive)
start at 8:00 am and Runners start at 8:30 am.
Free with Haggens card or GBRC membership, otherwise $5.
Online registration will be available for Haggen employees, CARD members, and GBRC members.
registration (Haggen employees, CARD members, and GBRC members).
Registration fliers will also be available at Fairhaven runners or Haggen stores, or you can register on the day of the race.

hey, i've known of this race for years and am considering running in it tomorrow morning. i might be running the hovander park run (also at 9:00) instead. i'm just wondering what the haggen to haggen race is for and whether it's a worthy cause.

| Time to get there for registration? | |
Hi, I missed online registration when I checked several days ago, so I have to register on race day. Any advice on how early I should get there because of that? I've heard 7 a.m. for that, but I really, really don't want to get there that early. If I have to, I will of course, but just looking for some thoughts. Thanks!

| strollers? | |
you can definitly have strollers! there are so many!! ; ) enjoy the run/walk!!

| Yes, strollers are allowed. | |
This is in response to Michelle's query re strollers. Yes, they're allowed. Since everyone's pretty tightly-packed at the start of the race, though, it's best to stay toward the back with a stroller. Enjoy!

| strollers? | |
I would like to run, but would have to push my son in a stroller. I was wondering if strollers were allowed on the course.
