Crossing Whatcom Creek in Whatcom Falls Park during the Two for the Road Race, Feb 2002.
Two for the Road is a fun, fairly non-competitive 5K in Whatcom Falls Park, beginning near the fish hatchery. It first heads around the fishing derby pond toward Electric Avenue and then back toward the start. It then follows the trail over the stone bridge and out to the overlook and back. Almost all of the run is on trails and it is relatively flat.
Folks may run individually, but since the run is "two for the road" two runners (or walkers) run together, holding on the piece of yarn. There are prizes for various categories, such as two males, two females, guy and gal, parent/child, etc. There will be refreshments, including hot drinks after the run.
Location: Whatcom Falls Park.
(see directions below)
Registration Day of the race only, 9:00-9:45am.
Race starts at 10:00 am.
Entry fee: GBRC members - free
